About the revolutionary news platform The Red Herald We got the gratifying news that the well -known Indian revolutionary, Professor G.N. Saibaba, now after ten years of political captivity.

Professor G.N. Saibaba was not only the most famous political prisoner of India, but also organized the revolutionary democratic front (RDF) for a long time, whose general secretary he was. This organization defends the democratic and social rights of the Indian population and their interests against imperialism, as well as the revolutionary movement for a New Democratic revolution in India. The accusation of the Indian state is that the RDF would have a close connection to the so -called "Maoists". This was also the accusation of G.N. Saibaba and the reason for an originally pronounced lifelong imprisonment.

Since his arrest, there has been a broad solidarity movement in India, as well as in numerous countries in the world that demanded its release. There have also been numerous solidarity campaigns in Austria since its arrest. (We reported: Prof. Saibaba and Varavara Rao - why their immediate release should be challenged LINK ; Solidarity with the political prisoners in India LINK ; Greetings from India on the solidarity campaign in Austria LINK )

The release of G. N. Saibabas shows the strength of the revolutionary and democratic movement in India, as well as the need for international solidarity actions!
