The MST Peasant Leadership, José Roberto da Rocha, was murdered last Saturday, March 23, in the municipality of Alhandra, southern coast of Paraíba. On Sunday, his body was found charred under the ashes of his truck, which had been set on fire. Near the crime scene were found bullet capsules.
José lived at Camp Wanderley Caixe, in stones of fire, which is about 34 kilometers from the municipality of Alhandra. He was one of the camp organizers.
The reasons for death have not yet been disclosed, but the notorious murder of the organizer of the peasant camp occurs in a scenario of sharpness of the land struggle in the country and increasing the crimes of landowners and gun against land struggle.
